Cooking Workshops

Cooking not only gives sustenance to our body, but like hearing good music, it can nourish our soul.

Our Ethos

Cooking is as natural as eating… with some guidance and information, classes will inspire your intuition, your imagination and your appetite to lead the way, in your kitchen. In this approach, recipes are starting points for you to personalize - adapting, researching and experimenting with ideas and ingredients, so that your cooking tastes just right, for you. Classes are built around the importance of enhancing relationships, with ourselves, each other and of course food. We need to eat and are social creatures, so coming together in a supportive, friendly group to enjoy cooking good food, makes good sense in every way.

Cooking, Connection & Wellbeing

Cooking to create connection and wellbeing for teams, organisations, families and communities.

The idea

This strand is not therapy, but it is deeply therapeutic. Cooking is one of the simplest ways we care for ourselves and connect with others. These workshops are practical, playful and purposeful: a chance to learn useful skills, make good food and experience the energy that comes from creating something together. Recipes provide a starting point; the real ingredients are confidence, curiosity, imagination and shared enjoyment. Around the table or campfire, food becomes a simple way to make, share, nourish and belong.

What it offers

Cooking workshops are adaptable one-off sessions and longer courses for organisations, community groups, families and private groups, using food as a practical route into capability, confidence, health and belonging.

Sessions can take place in community kitchens, workplaces, pop-up spaces and, where appropriate, private homes or my garden studio. Each workshop is designed around the people in the room, whether the focus is team building, healthy eating, confidence, creativity, communication, community impact or simply the pleasure of cooking and eating together. The benefits can last beyond the meal itself, creating a ripple of confidence, connection and healthy inspiration.

For organisations and community groups

I design and deliver workshops for schools, universities, youth groups, charities, wellbeing programmes and health or community organisations. Sessions can support practical life skills, group connection, confidence, creativity and communication. They can also be shaped around a specific theme, outcome or community need, with content adapted to the aims, budget and setting of the group.

For all ages, needs and abilities

Small-group sessions are friendly, relaxed and inclusive, usually for 6–8 participants. They offer enough structure to feel supportive and enough freedom for the experience to be personal, sociable and fun. Previous work has included community learning and wellbeing settings such as Recovery College.

Larger groups can create a strong, generous sense of community and possibility. Workshops can be adapted for focused groups of 2–30 participants, or for larger community gatherings of 100+ when several families come together. Previous examples include family and community food projects such as Chomp.

For individuals, couples and families

Bespoke sessions can be arranged for individuals, couples, families or small private groups. They can make a thoughtful gift, a meaningful way to spend time together, or a practical route into greater kitchen confidence. Sessions are adapted to your interests, needs and level of experience.
